Rules For Recycling In Marple Township:
Marple collects curbside recycling twice a month, using Springfield road as a dividing line for the township, Homes on the west side are serviced on the first and third wednesdays of the month.  Homes on the east side are serviced on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month.

Acceptable items are as follows:
  • Aluminum food and beverage containers
  • Glass food and beverage containers(clear,amber,and green)
  • Ferrous cans(soup,coffee etc.)
  • P.E.T Plastic containers with symbol #1
  • H.D.P.E natural plastic containers with the #2 symbol
  • H.D.P.E pigmented plastic containers with the #2 symbol
  • Newspaper(sunday inserts are acceptable)
  • Kraft paper bags, Cardboard, Corrugated containers(brown boxes only, NO CHIPBOARD, WAX Coated, beer suitcases or six pack containers)
  • Magazines(including coated magazines, catalogues and similar printed materials, junk mail and soft cover books)

 

ITEMS NOT ACCEPTABLE:
 
  • Mirrors, window or auto glass
  • Light Bulbs
  • Ceramics
  • Plastic containers with the #3, #5, #6, #7 symbols
  • Oil or antifreeze containers
  • Plastic bags
  • Coat Hangers
  • Paint Cans
  • 5 Gallon pails
  • Household items such as toasters, pots, or pans etc.
  • Phone books or hard cover books
  • Chipboard(cereal or pizza boxes)
