If a new date is set I will publish it ASAP. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Free Smoking Cessation Program for our residents Was a great success over 100 attended and received free smoking cessation aids.  I am working on another program for our residents and will announce it as soon as I complete the final arrangements.   ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Speed limit change on Paxon Hollow and Cedar Grove Roads The speed limits have been changed to 25 MPH on both roads.  There have been over 97 reported accidents and one death over a 2 year period.  Residents asked that I address the issue.  I had received numerous complaints at our Public Safety Committee meetings and we resopnded by asking PennDot to reduce the speed limits.  They did a study and their engineer agreed that it was needed.  Please be advised that Police will be out giving warnings intially but then ticket will be issued.  Please be careful.

New Marple Township Goverment Building Update: Updated September 09

Due to the downturn in our economy any plans for the new Government Center will need to be put on hold.  As many of our residents have had to tighten their belts we will need to do the same here at the Township.  The proposed project estimated to be in the area of $20 million dollars would create the need to increase taxes on our residents.  This should be the last thing we need to do at this time when so many are struggling to make ends meet.  That will be my recommendation to the Board of Commissioners.  When we can see some progress in our countrys economy I can see revisiting the idea.
